Abstract:
In this presentation I will introduce my emacs configuration and some libraries. Emacs is a text editor. But it is much more. I believe that with it you can achieve a x2 productivity. I will introduce Emacs and will explain how to move the first steps with it. I will then quickly present my configuration such that you can assess if it is anything interesting for you and if you want to go down that road.

👩‍💻 Who should attend?

Hardcore Software Developers and Data Scientists. Also for Bloggers and people that have to write product documentation it is quite handy. Others are welcome to participate. I would say that if you do not program extensively and regularly then to get up and running with Emacs might be quite an overkill in comparison to the benefit and would not recommend it.

Speaker:
I am a Junior Software Engineer at IBM. I study part time Statistics at ETHZ. Previously I studied Economics and Finance. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University Zurich and a Master of Arts in Banking and Finance from the University of St. Gallen. I mainly work at the data layer. Despite this I am interested in digital architectures and processes in general and in my current position I was lucky to have the chance to get a rough idea of the entire IT stack. Happy to get to know you and enlarge the emacs community. Find me here
